Mr. Charmer!

This past weekend, Kellen had a WONDERFUL couple nights of sleep! And when I mean wonderful, I mean that this meant I got some much needed, continuous, full cycle REM sleep!
On Friday and Sunday he slept THROUGH the night, yes from 9pm-6:30am! I don't think Mom slept well on Friday because she was worried something was wrong so she kept checking on him! I was sure to tell her "Mom, enjoy these moments...do not make a peep!"

Since he was able to enjoy my kind of sleeping schedule, he was able to charm us all!
I know, isn't he SOOOO darn cute?!
(And getting big?!)

And Mom worried he wouldn't be a happy baby..psh! ;)

I tried!

Last night Kellen was being a little fussy, so I thought I would try to help Mom and Dad out by providing him a few things to help calm him down...
You'd think a ball, Grizz and Baby would calm him down...they always make me feel good!
But I guess that's not what he needed.  What he needed was...
...his Daddy!!
"Kellen, I want you to know that I am definitely a Daddy's Girl so I completely understand and "get it" that sometimes you just need your Dad to help calm you down"

And my parents think I have a hard time sharing sometimes! :)

I'm a DOG!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has been enjoying all the Hallmark and ABC Family movies like we have!

We are definitely in the Holiday Spirit here at the WiederInn...get it?! ;)
However, Mom got a little camera happy and thought it would be a good idea to play a little Holiday dress up with me!

You see, I love Christmas, but I'm really not a fan of this "dress-up" thing!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words...
I think my facial expressions (or lack there of) says it all...
"Really Mom!?"
Oh, but it didn't stop there, oh no!
She then found a SANTA hat...imagine it now...
Yep, my facial expressions didn't change much!
"Mom, shouldn't we get back to that Hallmark movie we were watching"

I really do think my parents don't know I'm a dog! :)

Duties as a Big Sister!

As a Big Sister, I have certain responsibilities that I need to carry out!
Right now it's pretty easy as my key responsibility is to make sure Kellen doesn't go anywhere! I've heard my duties will only get harder once he gets bigger and starts crawling!
I say, "Bring It On!"
Now I know I haven't been a big sister for long, but I'm pretty sure Kellen did not like being in this little buggy my Grandma had! I think that high pitch noise he's making is an indication of discontent!
But being the big sister that I am, I just stayed there until Mom relieved me of my duty!
"Mom, I made sure Kellen was safely buckled in his seat so he doesn't wiggle out! I do think he would stop crying if we played Who Let the Dogs Out"
I am also used as a soft fluffy pillow!! I made sure I stayed real still so Kellen wouldn't fall over!
When I see Mom and Dad snuggle with Kellen, I make sure I join in on the action!!
"Mom and Dad, you can go rest! I'll make sure Kellen can't get out!"

I love being a big sister!

Esther the Puppy!

As mentioned in my Bio, I came from a very loving family! In fact, Mom still keeps in contact with them and sends them updates! Mom even told me she follows my blog, so I'm still able to make her smile! :)

Well about 2 weeks ago, I received a package from them!! They sent me a new dog bed!!
It's so cozy!
It didn't take me long to take a nap on it! I had the best dreams!
Within the package, there was an itty bitty frame wrapped up in bubble wrap! You all know me, I love surprises and gifts, so I was so anxious to see what it was!
When we finally got it open, I was speechless.. (and Mom & Dad too!)
She had sent us a picture of me as a PUPPY!!!! YES, that is me in that frame! I know, it's almost too cute to be in a frame! I must say though, I age REALLY well!

Since I know my previous owners are reading this, THANK YOU!

Many Faces of Kellen

Ok, since the last 4 posts have been all about me, I figured I should make one all about Kellen!
Kellen seems to have many different facial expressions.  They seem to all express something different every time! I think I've figured out one of them...it comes with a smell too!!

The "Yeah I know I'm a Stud Muffin" look!

Believe it or not, there was a 2 week different between the two pictures above! I know, they grow up so quickly!

The "ANOTHER picture?!" look!
You may not want to hear it Kellen, but Mom and Dad are obsessed with taking pictures! Just keep your hand by your face and you'll be ok!

The "Ohh Boy I'm tired" look!
I hear ya buddy ol' pal!

The "Ohhh yeah" look!
I would have never thought in my wildest dreams, that Kellen could poop a ball out! ;)

The "An Angel Just Kissed Me" look!

 And last but not least....

The "Here We Go Again" look!
For the about the first 2 weeks, at 7pm on the dot, Kellen would give us this look and it would last for about 3ish hours! I am happy to report it has gotten a lot better! Kellen is now able to be awake and content for a period of time! Phew!!!
He still has his spells occasionally and sometimes they are during the day, but hopefully he will give us a Christmas to Remember! :)

Whether it's his yawns, stretches, smiles, or cries; Mommy, Daddy and I love every inch of him!!

They grow up way too fast!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for! I'd like to share a few things that I am most thankful for!

1.  For a loving Mom and Dad that care so much about me and would do anything to make sure I am happy!
2.  For my new baby brother, Kellen. Though you may cry a lot (you're getting better though!) and interrupt my sleep cycle, I love you so much and I can't wait to play ball with you!
3.  For the ability to share my stories to all 6 followers and hopefully make each one of you smile every day!
4.  For all the tennis balls in the world! Without tennis balls, I would have nothing to play with!
5. Last but not least, for the great food I am about to indulge in...
...followed by a Thanksgiving Day nap!

Be sure to give thanks and be thankful for everything you have and everyone you have in your life!

Now...LET'S EAT!!

My Howl-O-Ween Paw-ty

During my blogging absence, I attended my very first Howl-O-Ween paw-ty at the very famous, Dog Woods Lodge.  This place does it all, I get to go there for day camp, spa day, and now a paw-ty?! WOW!
Since I was feeling a little down with all their attention on Kellen, they had Grandpa Klein come watch Kellen and just us three went to the paw-ty! Though we all missed Kellen, it was so nice for just the 3 of us to get away together! Thanks Grandpa Klein for saving my day! :)

But since it was a Howl-O-Ween Paw-ty, I had to do some dressing up! This year I decided to be "Esther the Space Dog Astronaut"! Everyone loved my creativity that I won 2nd place for best costume!
Like all paw-ties there were games and treats for everyone!
My favorite game was the "Bob-for-Treats"
Nothing will stop me from getting some good treats!
Well of course I got them all!
Dad even got in on the games! He had to balance a tennis ball on a plastic spoon and walk down to the wall! I was his best cheerleader!
"Dad you got this! If the tennis ball drops, do not worry, though I am a space dog I have cat like reflexes when it comes to a falling tennis ball!"

Last but not least, I got my first ever tattoo! Don't worry, I made sure no needles were involved!
Taaadaa!!
It was a paw-ty that went down in the books as one of the best paw-ties I've ever been to!
We even captured a Kodak moment of me, Mom & Dad!

Next year I can't wait to bring Kellen!

WE ARE SO PROUD!!

See, I told you I had more than just one post! :)

Now a lot of things have happened in the past 26 days while Mom was "busy" with Kellen or "busy" resting! But I am just going to jump right into the most exciting event...

On Friday, October 25th, the day my baby brother came home from the hospital, Dad had to leave for a very important interview in Omaha at Clarkson College.  This interview would be the deciding factor to whether or not... I'll be living on cheap dog treats for the next 2.5 years! I'm just kidding...but seriously!
But if daddy aced his interview, which I knew he would, he would be one step closer to reaching his dream, becoming a nurse anesthetist!
Well Dad aced his interview and was accepted into the program! Now here is where I'm going to brag...getting accepted into any nurse anesthesia program is no easy task! Out of 200 applicants, my dad was offered one of ten spots Clarkson has to offer! NBD, I know!
(I just learned this new lingo..it means No Big Deal :)
Since I can barely pronounce nurse anesthetist let alone spell it, I had to look it up to see what a nurse anesthetist does. After some serious Google searching I learned he will be in a room with lots of medical machines with people in blue outfits putting people to sleep! And it takes 2.5 years of intense schooling to do that?! It take me like 2.5 seconds to go to be in a deep sleep! :)

We are so proud of Dad!
 The official acceptance letter!
Doesn't he look good in surgical scrubs and cap?! :)

My goal before we move to Omaha in August is to be able to spell Nurse Anesthetist without Googling it!
Now, talk about no easy task!

PS-I am now accepting a sign-up sheet for people to mail me the good treats come August!

Back In Action...

Ok, ok, ok...I understand it's been at least 25 days since my last post, but don't look at me! I provide my publisher (aka my mom) all the materials she needs to deliver an amazing story and post! She keeps telling me, "Esther I know pumpkin, I'll share all your stories you have tomorrow".  I think "tomorrow" came and gone about 15 times! :)
So, just like you guys, I've just been waiting patiently...
"Mom, you do know people in this world are depending on me to make them smile"
"How are those stories coming along, Mom?"
"Well in the mean time, I'm just going to continue to catch up on my sleep! Tell Kellen I have a ball ready whenever he's ready to stop crying and play some ball!"
"WHAT?! You're telling me you finally have my stories posted?! Well it's about time, Mom! I can finally get back to what I do best...make people smile!" :)

Now all you 5 followers out there, be sure to continue to check back! I PROMISE there are most post than just this one!!
It's feels so good to be back in action!

Sleep Deprivation!

So I was warned that my dreams may be interrupted by some additional noise by Kellen in the middle of the night...they were not kidding! The phrase, "Sleep when the baby sleeps"...that is NO JOKE!

What I don't understand is, how is my baby brother wide awake at 2am?! Does he not understand this is the perfect time to dream about chasing squirrels and catching tennis balls?
As you can see, I tried to do my best to keep my Mom occupied while she fed Kellen.
I may need to work on that a little! :)

Once my baby brother Kellen falls asleep in the afternoon, I take FULL advantage of the "Sleep when the baby sleeps"!
I'm not sure who is more tired Me or Mom and Dad!

I'm hoping this doesn't last forever!!

Now Introducing...

The day FINALLY came! I became a big sister on Wednesday, October 23rd at 11:52pm!
Mom and Dad went into the hospital at 2pm on Wednesday and on Friday, (Mom's Birthday) they brought home my baby brother...Kellen Joseph Wiederin!
I wasn't able to come to the hospital, so I made sure Grandma got a picture so I could see my brother before he came home!

Though I had a blast at Grandma and Grandpa Klein's I was beyond excited to see my Mom and Dad AND my brother Kellen!
 Our first family photo!
I told Mom that Christmas is right around the corner! I wonder if she got the hint that this would make for a GREAT Christmas card?!

Just watching over my brother!
I call him Squeakers...he makes a lot of noise that I'm not used to!
I have to admit, I'm still adjusting to all this change! There are a lot of "extra" noises in the house, but I do know one thing...I LOVE HIM!

Note: My proof reader...aka Mom...seems to be a little tied up, so I apologize if I don't get a blog out everyday! I will do my best to keep on her though! I have a lot to share!

Model in the Making

It probably doesn't come as much surprise to you, but I've been told a time or two I could be a model! I personally would love to be in a dog treat commercial, I would make sure we had to do several "takes" to get the right moment! But that's beside the point!
Anyways, earlier this week Mom, Dad and I went on a beautiful nature walk!
As you can see, I was one happy girl!
I was constantly "on alert" just in case on our nature walk we saw a coyote or something and I had to protect my Mom and Dad!!
The walk was filled with sounds of squirrels getting ready for winter, birds chirping, and the crackling of leaves as you walk on them!
Back to my modeling, I think these would be  great pictures for a calendar. Just saying!
While we were on our walk, we came across a bridge and creek!
"Mom shhh, I'm pretty sure I see a tadpole down in there and if we're real quiet I may be able to go down and catch it! I promise I won't get dirty"
Our walk wouldn't be complete without a picture without my Mom and Dad!
I was so excited to take a picture with Dad I couldn't even keep my eyes open!

I have a feeling my modeling days are just beginning, so get your paw-tographs now! :)
