Our own XL sandbox!

A plus about living in an apartment, besides having an elevator, is having our own XL sandbox!! And when I mean XL I mean...

Our own sand volleyball court!
Kellen is going to have a rude of wakening when he has to play in a 3x3 sandbox!

But don't you worry I'm teaching Kellen to play nice in the sandbox! However, first things first...
Teaching him how to drive a dozer...those aren't the wheels dude!!

It's so exhausting having to tell him over and over how to use the dozer.

Then 1 minute later he's done playing with it! All that teaching for nothing?!?!

Kids these days!!

More waiting!

Well I feel like the majority of my time is spent waiting! Between waiting for bread, snacks, walks, and....Kellen and Daddy, I just lay here and wait!

But don't worry, Mom is pretty great and she'll take a break and make sure I get a walk, get my morning PB snack, and give me my snuggles!

However the minute she goes back to work...
I wait some more!!

I just love them so much that I want to be at the door the minute they get home so they don't forget to say hi!!

Strategic, I know! ;)

Patiently Waiting...

A GREAT fall/winter, or I guess any season, appetizer is bread and olive oil!! The loaves are always so fresh and soft!

Well the other night we got to enjoy a loaf! I say "got to" because Mom is all about carbs and making sure we don't indulge in too many carbs! You'd think she was a health major!!

Well after they cut the bread and prepared the olive oil, they just left and left me hanging!!
Something about Kellen getting into something...weird!! So while they attended to Kellen, I sat in the kitchen waiting patiently....

And waited!
2 minutes later they FINALLY decided to enjoy the bread! Yes, 2 minutes is an eternity to a dog-especially when you have fresh bread a foot from your nose!!

After I warned Mom and Dad that the bread was getting hard, they finally took my advice and indulged!
And yes, that means I got to indulge!

If you've never had fresh bread and olive oil....you're missing out! Definitely a Top 10 snack...and that's saying something coming from a girl that can eat! ;)

Football Saturday!

Sorry about the lack in posts last week. We were back in IA and Mom must not realize her phone works the same in IA as it does in MN! But let's not dwell on the past, moving forward...

My family enjoys football season! Dad played in HS and Mom can throw a pretty tight spiral...kuddos to Papa on that on...and Kellen already has 3 footballs and has to sleep with one of them!

Well before we left last week, we went to play at the park and there like 25 little league football games going on! So what do we do??
Yes, we sit down like we know one of the players! It was a bit weird at first, but I'm not going to complain about laying in the grass and catching some rays!

We were also surprised that Kellen actually sat and watched the game! Just today he started saying "touchdown!"

But we should've known that Kellen and the word sit don't always go hand in hand ...
Until he finds a stick and thinks that he's a dog and needs to play fetch with a stick!!

I don't even fetch sticks!! I prefer fresh new tennis balls!
Or just Dad's giving me a good belly rub!

Go State!

Tomorrow is the big game! That's right the Iowa vs. Iowa State game! So in honor of the big day, I'm doing a little throw back!
Yes I know today is not Thursday! I'm more of a leader than a follower, anyways!

And incase you forgot who won last year...well let's just say it's a CYCLONE STATE, baby!!

Tacos and Nachos here I come!

Breakfast with Mom!

Every morning Mom is lucky enough to have breakfast with me. And when I say "with me" I really mean "share with me"!

The minute Mom gets home from dropping Kellen off at daycare I know it's breakfast time! Mom's not one to differentiate her breakfast routine, so it's Cheerios every morning! I on the other hand would prefer Apple Jacks or something! But I'll take what I can get!

So while Mom enjoys her Cheerios, I patiently wait...
Oh I forgot, Mom does add blueberries and strawberries. She said it adds extra flavor...really?!

Once she eats her berries...something about being a super food too...I finally get my turn at the bowl!
Again, I have to wait patiently!! Yes, I love being spoon fed! ;)

The minute Mom lowers the spoon, I go after it like I've never eaten before!
Don't worry, I just had Peanut Butter toast before this..I'm not that starved! :)

Mom even makes sure I get every last Cheerio!
Even if she has to hand feed me!

I never said I wasn't spoiled! ;)

Tractor Ride!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday weekend! We made our way to IA and got to see both Grandparents!!

The highlight of my weekend was FINALLY getting a tractor ride! You see Kellen talks nonstop about "riiide" "tractor". He woke up Thursday morning saying "Papa, ride, tractor" because he knew we were going to Papas!! He's literally obsessed!!

So of course the minute we pulled up to Papa Klein's house, Kellen was ready for his ride!
Yes, those are John Deere overalls! I tell ya, you'd think he lives on a farm!

As I mentioned in a different post, Mom's a bit sensitive, so she wanted a ride in the wagon!!
Yep, still working on those selfies!! Someone needs to have the heart to tell her to calm down on the thumbs up and overexcitement eyebrows! (Dad you know what I'm talking about-I nominate you!)

While Mom, Kellen, and Dad enjoyed their tractor ride the first time, I enjoyed a nice massage..
You should really try a nice full grass rub down! :)

I was so relaxed after my massage that I requested that my tractor ride wait until the next day!
Saturday morning came around and I was ready to go!!
Our first family tractor ride!! I know my face doesn't resemble any sort of excitement, but it was everything I dreamed of...And then some!

I hope you had as much fun as I did! I do apologize that my schedule was packed and unable to see all of my IA friends!! :)

I Still Got It!

Lately Mom and Dad have been concerned about my hearing and seeing. They think since I'm "aging" I'm losing my ability to see and hear. Little do they know it's called selective hearing and playing dumb! ;)

The other night, Dad wanted to make sure that I could still catch a tennis ball!! I tell ya, you'd think I was turning 20 in January, not 14!!
I was so ready for this challenge! Stance and all!

And the toss goes up...

And...it's caught!!!!
Boo-yahh Baby!!

And then there was round two...
Thank goodness Dad was there to help! ;)

And to think they thought I had lost it!
Silly parents!!

Family Fun Night!

Every night when Mom and Dad go to pick up Kellen, the first thing he says is "park". You see mom gets a little stir crazy working and living in the apartment, so I think she wants to go to the park more than Kellen does!!

Well tonight I got to go with! I just love parks, minus this wood chip stuff! With sensitive paws like mine, I just wanted to lay down in it!
Or it could've been the dewpoint in the 70s! For all you non weather geeks, that's just plain out very humid!

Kellen just loves the park and I love hearing him squeal as Dad pops out from the tunnel!!
He's getting so big, I just can't believe it!

Then Dad decided to join Kellen in the tunnel...
...oh boy is right! ;) It was entertaining watching Dad climb out of the tunnel!!

I just love Family Time at the park! Even when it's really humid- and in MN that means a lot!! Hence why us Iowans were the only ones at the park. Everyone else was camped out in their basement! :)
They don't know what true humidity is like!

Once an Iowan, Always an Iowan!
