Hard at Work!

So about 3 weeks ago I think I told you we were going to be setting up the crib that week.  Well 3 weeks passed and FINALLY Wednesday night was the night!! I've never worked so hard! :)

I let Dad do the hard part of bringing the crib up to my baby brother's room!
And I thought my Grandpa was strong!!

Dad, you amaze me by your strength!
We are ready to get to work! But wait, I'm missing something....

That's right...Safety first!
I had my JD working hat and tool belt on and ready to go! Whatever Dad needed help with, I was ready!

Of course he knew what he was doing, so I just let him take over and more or less made sure everyone followed all safety precautions and became Project Manager!
#1 Precaution Rule: Always leave a tennis ball in close diameter to working subject.
"Dad, you're doing a great job!"
See that picture behind me!? Yep, that's me! I know, I thought it was life size at first too! I'm almost 110% sure that'll be going in my baby brother's room! It'll be for those late nights when I'm too tired to come in his room when he's crying, he'll have that picture to look at and it'll make all his tears disappear!

Dad was so good at putting the crib together, that about an hour and half later...it was done!!
It looks so good! Mom did put the skirt, but the final pictures will have to wait! :)

Oh, I can't wait to meet my baby brother! Maybe I'll leave a ball in his crib as a "Welcome Gift"!

Stayin' Cool

Talk about Dog Days of Summer! There is no other way to say it than, IT IS HOT! I can't even go out for a nice morning stroll without coming back and panting for hours! It takes me at least an hour to cool down before I can take a nap again!
My mom tries to get me outside to go for a short walk and this is the look I give her...
"Mom, you're nuts if you think I'm going out in that heat! It does nothing for my fur!"

But eventually nature calls and I have to relieve myself.
So I go outside, get slammed in the face with what feels like a brick wall, do my duty and scurry back into the house! Those brief moments in the hot, dry, heat wipes all the energy out of me and then I'm back to square one of cooling off again!
It's a never ending battle! Until......

We go for a car ride and Dad see's some sprinklers at a local business that has us dogs in mind! Instead of wanting to water the grass, they thought it would be better to have the sprinklers water the road!! You know what that means, Dad slows down reeeal slow, (my window was already rolled down, so that was done) and he lets me enjoy the cool mist on my face...ahhhhh!
"Hey Dad, how about you turn around and do that again? You said you needed to wash Mom's car!"

Stay cool my friends!

Weekend Activity

And I'm back!! I hope each of you had a great weekend!

On Saturday the day started off kind of lonely and sad, but little did I know my parents had something up their sleeves for me!
Mom and Dad had to leave really early to go up to LeMars, IA for what would be my Great-Grandpa's John Deere auction and I couldn't come this year...how dare they! I went to the show last year and thought I made the best John Deere country girl!
Wouldn't you agree?!
But I guess this year there was a lot of commotion and people everywhere...do they not know I LOVE people and people love ME!?
But my parents always have the best intention for me and always make sure I still have a fun day ahead even when they're gone!
So here I was just sitting at home by myself, watching HGTV alone, no one to play ball with (are you feeling sorry for me yet?!) when all of a sudden the door opens! I raced over to the stairs and I see it's our neighbor who Dad works with! They came to save the day! They came to bring me over to their house for a mini play date with my new friend, Rossi!

I'm not quite sure what kind of dog Rossi is. But what I do know is, she has A LOT of energy who weighs in at maybe 8 pounds...on her "heavy" days!
Rossi's mom tried to catch a picture, but Rossie wouldn't sit still and kept running and running! But this will give you an idea to how "big" Rossi is!
I still had fun at Rossi's house! I think I'll add her to my birthday paw-ty invite list!

Once Mom and Dad got home, I greeted them like I hadn't seen them for days! Once I got my belly rub that I waited all day for, I decided to finally try out this dog bed they got me about 2.5 years ago...
And guess what, it wasn't half bad! I'd still prefer a TempurPedic...maybe for the little guys room?! :)

Have a great Monday!

Part Frog Too...

So yesterday I told you not only am I part dog, human and fish, but I think I just proved that my tongue is like a frog, so now I'm part frog!

When a frog catches an insect it throws its sticky tongue out of it’s mouth and wraps it around its prey.  The frog’s tongue then snaps back and throws the food down its throat.
(Yes, I did do a little research on frogs!)

The frog catching it's prey...
Me catching my prey...
 Ice Cream from VanDees!!

Do you see the similarity?! :)

Blog note: I have made a blogging decision to enjoy some R&R on the weekends! I know, I understand some of you may have some withdrawal, but rest to sure I'll be back on Monday for the latest and greatest!

Watch Out Phelps

I thought things couldn't get any better after the I-Cubs game last week! Whoa boy was I wrong!! I went SWIMMING!! And not in a lake or pond, at an actual aquatic center!!

When I saw the large body of water and that I was going to be swimming in there, I just couldn't contain myself! I was so excited! You see not only am I part dog and part human, but I came to the conclusion that I'm also part fish!

Water is kinda like my second home! I just love it!
I like to fetch my balls and then just come back to the gutter and just chill!
(Mom has a great video of me swimming, but I can't get it to upload. Contact her if you'd like to see me! :) )
I think I'd make a great lifeguard! I wouldn't even need a whistle!
Bark- "Kids, make sure you walk!"
I have to admit Mom, that's a pretty good action picture you got there!
I had the time of my life swimming at an actual swimming pool!
The best part of it...I got to swim with my Dad!!

Sunrisers

This pasted weekend, Grandma & Grandpa Klein moved into their new house! I absolutely wuff it! The grass was finally laid, so myself and Griz made ourselves comfy as we were Project Managers for the moving crew.

Since Dad was at work, Mom and I spent the night! I think I could get used to waking up every morning in Papa's new house!
You see, I'm a bit of an early riser! So I was ready to go and woke Mom up at 6:30!! I had to tell her if we hurry, we'll catch the sunrise on the front porch!
It was B-E-A-UTIFUL! I think Mom was happy I woke her up!
Since we were the only ones up, we decided to have an early morning photo shoot!
(Note: My Mom is not much of an early bird unlike myself)
I guess she didn't listen when I told her "Funny Face" THREE different times!

"Holy cow, Mom! Did you not look in the mirror before we came out!?"

After the sunrise and our little photo shoot, I decided to catch a little nap on the front porch!
Uhhh, my new heaven on earth!

Put Me in Coach

I greatly apologize for my lack of blogging last week.  I'm FINALLY able to stop panting from all the hustle and bustle this week! BUT I'm so excited to share what I did on Tuesday night, that I'm a little winded now!

So, last Tuesday night the event of the summer took place!
Dogs Days of Summer at the I-Cubs game!
Yep, that's right! One day a year, the I-Cubs let us dogs in to show everyone how to have a good time!

It started off with $1 Hot Dogs.  You'd think my parents would splurge on that extra dollar and get me one!
Nope, I had to patiently wait for a TINY piece from Dad!
My Grandma & Grandpa Klein even came with!
Right before the game, they let all of us pretty dogs strut our stuff out on the field!
"Hey Mom, I see some fresh green grass behind me and I GOTTA GO! Do you think they'd mind?"
While parading around, I was able to have some good conversations with some VERY important people!
"Mr. GM of the I-Cubs, if you tell Coach to put me in, I'll be able to do two things for you 1-Make People Smile 2-Catch every ball that's hit, even if it's not coming my way! Oh yeah, one minor position I can't play is Pitcher, in case you didn't think of that!"
"Always remember, if you can't make that catch, don't worry about it! I'll come in and relieve you!"
"Yo Cubbie, hook me up with that Hot Dog gun!"
Finally the game started and I loved every minute of it! The green grass, balls flying in the air, and last but not least, the SMELLS!
It was a great night for a ball game with my Mom, Dad, Grandma & Grandpa!
I am so blessed to have them in my life!
Yes, Mom is growing by THE DAY!!

Short & Sweet

I must apologize for not being on top of my game this week!! It's been a crazy busy week!
BUT I do want to share with you my first selfie I took last night! I keep seeing Mom take selfies of herself for some Snapchat thing, so I thought I'd give it a shot!!
I think I'm pretty good at this selfie thing!!
Watch out Snapchat friends!!

Be sure to continue to check back daily! I had an amazing night Monday night that I have to share with everyone, once I get a few minutes to myself! :)

My Day with Grandpa

Blog Note: To avoid any confusion, the buff man in the pictures to come is NOT Arnold Schwarzenegger. Look very similar?! I know, but THIS buff man is my GRANDPA!!
Sorry ladies, he's been taken....by ME! Well I guess my Grandma too!

On Saturday, Mom decided she needed to do some more "scrapin", but wanted to do it at Memory Bound.  I was A-OK with that! My mind was still recovering and I knew I'd get to spend the day with my Grandpa Klein!
The minute he called my name I literally went galloping to him, fell onto my back, put my paws up and got the most wonderful belly rub of all time!!

Grandpa and I had a fun day! We started at the new house walking around inspecting everything, ran a few errands, went out to the garden and came back to the new house to plan and map out all of Grandma's flower beds! It was just WONDERFUL! When Mom was done scrapbooking, she came out and was able to capture this beautiful moment!
Frame and office worthy? I think so!!
As soon as Mom and Grandma came out to the house, I was sure to show them all the hard work we did! I did have to keep asking Grandpa when the sod was being laid, because that dirt was doing NOTHING for my freshly trimmed nails!
But OMG, look at how much green grass I'll have to play ball!
"Say Mom, I'm just going to relax here and enjoy the scenery and imagine all the fresh green grass"
This is what I look like after a day with Grandpa! I wouldn't have it any other way though!
Mom then surprised me and we spent the night at Grandpa's! On Sunday morning we then went for coffee at a new place called Caribou.  I was kinda sketchy about it at first with never being there and the fear of not having a puppy latte, but Grandpa came to the rescue!
Oh thanks Grandpa!

I think I make him feel like a kid again! :)

Scrapboukin' with Mom

Friday night Mom and I had a girls night! This consisted of one of Mom's favorite movies, New in Town and little bit of scrapboukin'.
You're probably thinking to yourself, "That is NOT how you spell scrapbooking, Esther"
Oh I know, but after the movie Friday night, I'm kinda diggin the Minnesotan accent, I'm pretty sure they add an "ou" to every word!! Mom said when she was younger, they lived in Minnesota and she even talked like that! So for today's blog...I'm pretending I'm a Minnesotan...Dontcha Knouw :)

Sou on Friday night nouw, Mom and I decided she should proubably get caught up on the little guys scrapbouk.  Mom is scrapin' her pregnancy so the little guy can louk back at it some dauy.
(She must of forgot about MY scrapbook she started, 1 YEAR AGO!!)

But I decided to put my best pauw forward and help her out!
"This stuff is like Silly String, I wuff it!"
Sou I was helpin my Mom organize the pictures, you knouw and I came across A LOT of me! Sou I told her a page titled "The Many Faces of Your Big Sister" would be fun and she loved the idea!
I kneuw I was meant to be a scraper!
"Mom, that's a wonderful page we did there, dontcha knouw!"
I have to admit, this scraboukin took a lot out of me mentally! I had sou many ideas running through my mind that I had to rest my precious mind!
With being the thoughtful and sweet dog that I am, I let Mom use some of her ideas while I rested my mind!

Now if you had a hard time reading this, feel free to call my Mom! I'm pretty sure she read this out loud a billion times! I do have to admit, she does have the accent down pretty good...
Dontcha Knouw! :)

Somethings In There...

Mom's tummy is getting bigger and bigger and it kinda freaked me out at first!
As I was snuggling up close, I came to the conclusion I should probably examine this growing tummy.
I came to a couple conclusions:
1. That belly looks so cute on my Mommy
2. This belly just isn't from all the ice-cream Mom's been eating
3. Something is in there and IT MOVES!!
"Uhhh Mom, did you know you have an alien living inside you and it's MOVING?!?"
Mom then went onto explain that the "alien" inside her was my baby brother and that all the moving is just him preparing for all the ball we'll be playing!

Oh I can't wait to meet my little brother!!

A Bit Under the Weather...

So the past couple of days I have been feeling a bit under the weather.
I tried telling Mom and Dad it was just a bug, but with Mom being the worry-wart that she is and Dad being the knowledgeable nurse, they decided to bring me to the worst place ever...THE VET!!
You see they kinda tricked me, how is that possible!?!?  The vet it right next door to ORANGE LEAF!! (They planned that one out right!)
So when we first pulled up, I got so excited and jumped right out of the car! Little did I know we weren't going through the Orange Leaf door! I tried turning around, but that didn't fly with them!
So we just waited to see Dr. Craig.  Dr. Craig is really nice, but I'd like to hang out with him outside of his work environment!
"Please don't call my name"
As I mentioned before, my parents are pretty much amazing! They do a really good job of trying to calm me down and make sure I know it's going to be ok!
I try to play Hide-n-Seek with the Dr. but for some reason he still finds me.  Still trying to figure out what gives it away!
After seeing the Doc, he determined I DID have a little bug and just need a little antibiotics to kill it!
(I told ya so!!)
My night did get better though, it involved lots of snuggles with many hugs and kisses!!

Don't worry, I'm feeling better already!

How I Do It...

I'm sure you've probably asked yourself, "How is she able to eat so many treats, Puppy Latte's and Puppy Cones from Snookies and maintain such a great looking figure?!"
Let me tell you, it's not all that easy!!

I'm not sure if I'd consider this lucky or not, but my parents...well they're kinda health nuts!! They both used to work in the fitness industry.  My dad was a Personal Trainer and Mom did corporate wellness and taught fitness classes! (I feel bad for all the people in her Boot Camp class!!)
Even though they don't work in gyms anymore, with Dad being a nurse and Mom still on this health kick, I am constantly being "watched" and making sure I'm getting enough activity!

This is where I know I'm lucky!
We live by a trail, so when Mom and Dad say the "W" word, I get so excited and take them straight to the trail!
When I'm just with Mom, she even lets be walk without my leash sometimes! I always stay right next to her though!
Well, unless I want to go smell...the roses?! :) Believe me, there are a lot of "roses" to smell!
But then I just come back to the trail and smile at all the friendly people sitting on their patios.
We have walked this trail so many times, I'm sure they have our schedule down and think
"Aww, here comes the sweet dog and her parents...AGAIN!"
Now, if there was an Olympic sport for speed walking, sign my parents up!!
I have learned to walk quickly with big strides!! I thought for sure with Mom getting bigger and bigger, that would slow her down...NOPE!
But the biggest thing I've learned is, ALWAYS have a smile on your face when you walk!!

So, that's how I do it! I have AMAZING parents that make sure I get plenty of walks and of course plenty of ball that allows me to have treats and still rock this great figure! :)
