My Gigi Friends!

I'm back! I do greatly apologize for the lack of blogging last week! I always like to have my Mom proof read my work before I post, and she was a little tied up last week!
I just think that was the excuse she gave me...she's becoming a little slow! :)

So last weekend I got to go to one of my favorite places of all time...Gigi's Playhouse! I just love all of my friends at Gigi's, they are extra special to me!
Every 3rd Saturday I get to go to Gigi's and have the time of my life!
These are just a few of my friends I have made!
We play dress up..
play Hide-n-Go-Seek...
and play with puzzles and read books!
But most importantly,
create SMILES for everyone!

I paws down have the best job in the world!

Barley & Me

Man, my social calendar has just been packed full of fun times!
Last night was Yappy Hour at Mickey's Downtown! I'm all about making people smile, but tonight was about giving back to my furry friends at the ARL!
"Dad, what can I get you to drink?"
Dad chose the beer of the night, Barley & Me! For every Barley & Me that Mickey's sold, they donated $1 to the ARL!
"Dad, thanks for helping all my friends at the ARL...now drink up!!!"
This was my first time at a bar, so I had to pace myself!
"Mom, I'm just going to lay down here for a bit! I'm starting to get the spins!"
It did not take me long to smell that amazing bar popcorn and get up!
"Dad, are you going to give me some of that popcorn or not!?"
After supporting the ARL a few times, Dad and I decided it was time to close out the tab...
"How many dollars did we donate, Dad?"

"Mom, I think your waters were pretty expensive...Dad's trying to figure out the Math on them all!"
:)

I am happy to report that we were able to donate a couple bucks to the ARL!
For all you Worry Warts, I followed Mom's expensive drink taste and opted for the water!

Sensory Overload!

Yesterday I told you how I got to go pick out a special treat for the baby shower! Well here is the adventure... :)

Though I do not like to reminisce about this, you'll recall last Thursday we had some pretty strong storms roll through! All I can say is...Thank Dawg my Daddy was home! Anyways, that evening once I realized the storm was over I was ready to go get my treat!

There were so many treats I was in sensory overload!
"So you're saying I can pick out any treat I want?!"
Oh the choices I had...
I had think strategically on this one! What was the biggest and what would give me the most treats in the long run!
And as you saw...this was the lucky choice!
I would like to think that I'm pretty good at strategically thinking!

I'm still enjoying the treat! :)

BabyQ!

WOW! What a weekend I had! There are so many things I can't wait to tell you about! So be sure to check back everyday to hear all about it! I'm going to start with the most exciting, so I apologize in advance for the events are not in chronological order and this is a long one!

On Saturday I got to attend my first baby shower! And the best part was, I was kinda like the guest of honor! Grandma and Grandpa hosted a couples baby shower for Mom, Dad and I and they called it a BABYQ...you know, instead of a BBQ! (How clever!)
I had so many friends come by and wish me luck as I embark on the new adventures of becoming a BIG SISTER! The best part, they ALL said I'll be a wonderful Big Sister...well yeah!! :)
These are some of my friends! They each shared some of their dinner with me, so they are now my BEST friends!
So earlier in the week Mom and Dad took me to get a special treat (that story is for later this week), well I finally got to enjoy the treat....
"Hurry and take your picture, my Hyper-Salvatory Glands are kicking in!"

One aspect of a baby shower that I had no idea was involved was GIFTS! If you don't know me, I LOVE gifts! I am a great helper when it comes to gift bags and tissue paper! Wrapping paper kinda slows down the process of getting to the hidden treasure...but that's just a personal opinion! Well everyone must have the same opinion as I do, because there were a lot of gifts bags and tissue paper!
"Don't worry Mom & Dad, I found the hidden treasure"
After a few gifts I realized the gifts really weren't for me, until...
I saw my name on a bag! A gift JUST FOR ME!! And to everyone's surprise...they were fresh tennis balls!! To the special person who made sure I had a gift too...THANK YOU! :)

Around 9pm aka my bedtime, I was exhausted, no I was past exhaustion...I think I was delirious! I couldn't get to my bed fast enough!
I am still trying to recover from such a beautiful and fun day!

But when I see this picture of my beautiful family it makes me smile and realize how blessed I am!
I love you Mom & Dad!

Hyper-Salivary Gland Syndrome

In my spare time, I have decided to do some reading on the Internet. (I know, that's not always the best thing!) I knew I had Salivary Glands but I guess I just didn't know what they did, so I wanted to find out! From all the readings, I came to the conclusion that they produce Saliva...duhh! :)

Well I also came to another conclusion and decided to self diagnose myself with a new syndrome...
...Hyper-Salivary Gland Syndrome AKA excessive drooling around food
Is there such thing?! Of course not, but if you put some pizza in front of me, this is what happens!

I now have an excuse to why I drool so much when I see something I want! :)

FOOORE!

I think I have started a new hobby with Dad...GOLF!

Mom always makes the comment that she can't buy Dad flowers like he can her, so what's equivalent in Dad's eyes...Gift Card to Golf Galaxy!
It probably took him maybe 24 hours to go to Golf Galaxy and get a new gripper for his putter. Mom and I have no idea what that does, but I know one thing...if it involves a ball being tossed to me, I don't care what else it does!

I think was able to provide Dad with enough tennis balls...
"Let's see your best chip shot there Dad, I bet I can catch it!"

"Whoaaa look at the air on this one...I'll still get it!"

Like humans, dogs make mistakes and aren't perfect either! (I know, it's a big surprise, especially coming from me!) But anyways, I can't always control and catch Dad's wild putts and they end up going under the bookshelf! And when I can't reach a tennis ball that I KNOW is under there, I will literally wait and wait and wait until someone else has to retrieve it for me!
"Stop taking so long, Dad! You're the one that had the wild putt, so hurry up already!"

I think my next field trip is golfing with Dad! Mom say's they may have to disguise me a bit for that one, but I'd make a great caddy! :)

Call Me Betty...

The weather is perfect for long walks on the sidewalk, nice breeze through the open windows, and the anticipation of my baby brother's arrival.  We're just missing one thing...APPLE CRISP!

We had some visitors for the ISU/IOWA game and around halftime, Grandpa asked if we'd be willing to make some apple crisp.  Mom informed him that she didn't have any apples or the ingredients.  Do not be afraid Mom, Grandma & Grandpa always come prepared! Yes, they just happened to everything in car! :)

And so we began our assembly line!
"Mom, are you going to take pictures, or actually help!?  The sooner you help, the sooner we eat!"

This was my first time making apple crisp, so I was ready and willing to help with whatever!
"I'll make sure you don't drop anything on the floor, Grandpa.  I'm know for my cat like reflexes!"

I didn't realize the baking aspect and that it takes about an hour for it to actually bake and then we have to let it cool! And they say dogs can't decipher time!

The time finally came to when we could actually eat! I don't mean to brag or anything since this was my FIRST time making apple crisp, but let me tell you, I have never tasted anything so good...and I've tasted A LOT of things!
"Mom, you realize the longer you keep this in front of me, the longer my mouth waters and you know what that leads too...an extra special ingredient"
Don't worry, I didn't eat all of that...I did share! :)

"So what are the chances of me getting seconds?! I was a really good girl today!"

For all you concerned followers, Mom wouldn't let me eat any of the apple crisp that I made! I only got to lick the spoon which didn't even have any of the good stuff on it!

All In a Days Work...

Yesterday I told you how I helped Grandpa start the landscaping project.  Well yesterday I helped Daddy with probably the hardest part of the landscaping project...hauling rock!! We started off with a ton a rock...lets me rephrase that...we started off with 18 TON of rock!

Dad and I's job was to start hauling rock to this retaining wall and work our way up!
It looks like a simple task, but don't let it fool you!

With Dad's strong arms, he made the job look so easy!
He'd walk the wheel barrel up the hill, fill up the wheel barrel, and carefully walk the full and heavy wheel barrel back down the hill! Fortunately Dad is pretty meticulous too, so I didn't have to pull the "Well Grandpa would normally make sure it's evenly spread, so make sure it's even"
Once again, I was Project Manager! I kinda like this title...Esther Wiederin, Project Manager.  Of course the key responsibility of being Project Manager is making sure there is ALWAYS a ball within arms length of employee! But I do see a safety concern...I'm pretty sure that rake shouldn't be facing up!

Each trip I would follow Dad up the hill and to the rock pile and watch him fill up the wheel barrel.  I always opted to relax on the grass as I learned it was much softer and easier on my nails!
"Dad, I know you're strong but be careful you don't fill that up too much! I don't want you to hurt yourself and not be able to play ball with me!"

After what felt like forever, it was finally lunch time!
"Grandma said you can come in for lunch now! I'm suppose to remind you to clock out though!"
We didn't stop after lunch, oh no!! Out we went...our job wasn't done!
40 loads later, we called it a day! Yes, that's down and back 80 times! I really wish I had my pedometer on me to see how many strides I took!
After the last load of rock, Dad and I were so pooped that I just let him rest his head on me!
Picture perfect, I think so!

I think we'll both sleep good tonight!!

The Waiting Game...

This past weekend I went and helped my Grandpa Klein start the new landscaping project! He's pretty meticulous when it comes to landscaping, so I knew I'd be the perfect helper!

Like I leave on people's heart, I wanted to make sure I left my paw print in the sand!
Since Grandpa is so meticulous, I once again became Project Manager!
Water and ball...what more do I need!?

Well I must have what's called ADD, because after 15 minutes of monitoring the project, I was ready for some ball! I didn't want to bother Grandpa, so I just left him a subtle hint that I was ready to play whenever!
Well....
I waited...and waited...and waited!
(Oh, that's a different ball...I always have to have 2 to play!)

I literally thought the sun going to go down before I'd get the ball thrown to me!
"Hey Grandpa, throw me the ball already...PLEASE?!"

Well about 30 minutes later, I finally got my wish!!
I was so happy! Grandpa said it was something with the heat to why he didn't want to run me too much! He's always looking out for me!

As always, the wait was worth while! :)

...take a nap!!

That may or may not be a strand of my lovely locks in the carpet :)

One More Night...

Every Sunday, Dad always sings the song "One More Night" by Phil Collins to me.  It reassures me that it's just one more night without him! Have I told you that I'm a bit of a Daddy's Girl!

The minute Dad got up yesterday, I ran upstairs, greeted him with a happy growl and ran back downstairs and jumped up on the couch with him! I wanted to make sure I got my snuggle time with him.
Nothing beats quality snuggling with my Daddy!
It's something with his special touch that always calms me down and lets me know...it's just One More Night!!
"Mom, I do love you too and I really do enjoy our weekends together! It's just that I haven't seen Dad for a few hours, you know!"

I think Mom gets a little jealous for all the attention I give Daddy! :)
